I've been getting a lot of inquiries about Postlapsaria's relaunch and believe me, there is no one who wants the site back up as much as I do! My friend has been redoing the site and we had a bit of a hiccup in the process, which set back the relaunch a little more than expected. I'm having all of the clothing photographed before I leave for Florida, so I finally feel like I can start wearing some of the garments. I was hesitant to do any previews because I'm not doing pre-orders - some of the items are really limited, depending on the fabric (there are less than ten of this top in this fabric). However, since everything but the photos are done, I'll be giving my readers sneak peeks throughout the next couple of weeks!
These tops come in several different fabrics and colored laces, with or without fringe (it also comes in different lengths). I wear these pretty often - usually the ones without the fringe - with jeans, over dresses, skirts, etc. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing a different one right now! 

It's my birthday, too - yeah!

Yesterday was my birthday! Christine and I met at Lincoln Center bright and early for the Tory Burch and Michael Kors shows, stopped by the Harper's Accessories Bazaar and caught up with lots of friends. After the shows, I went home, ate some lunch and a delicious slice of the best cake ever - FUNFETTI! - and took a nap. Later on, Bobby and I attended the J Sabatino show and he cooked my favorite dinner - Broccoli, cheddar and gruyere quiche and potato leek soup! Birthday!

Fun facts: Yesterday was also my grandpa's, Kim's dad's, Eliot's, Prince Harry's and a few of my readers' birthdays. How crazy is that? And today is my grandma's birthday!

Heart IFB!

The very first day of fashion week was also the day of the IFB Evolving Influence conference, which Kim and I volunteered for. I had a midday show to attend at Lincoln Center (within walking distance, luckily), but I helped stuff the goodie bags and checked in the attendees. It was really awesome meeting so many different people and seeing blogger friends from all over. After the conference, a bunch of us went out for pizza and generally had a great time.

A lot of readers ask me for advice on blogging, and in addition to my normal tips, I always direct them to IFB. If you're a blogger and you aren't familiar with IFB, join it and soak up all the info you can retain. Jennine and the IFB crew and contributors are pretty amazing. It's such a great community to be a part of. If you missed the panels, there are many articles available on the site, as well as other blogs!

It's kind of funny that I was at a blogger event and actually forgot to take my outfit photo. Luckily, a bunch of photographers snapped some photographs outside of Lincoln Center - one of which ended up on Harper's Bazaar. Yay! Sure, it's only one photo, but it's not like I won't be wearing the outfit again;)

Dreams unwind; love's a state of mind.

The combination of sheer black, draped fabric and lots of lace makes me think of one of my mom's favorite female vocalists, Stevie Nicks. Though my outfit is a lot less dramatic than her legendary getups, I had Fleetwood Mac stuck in my head all day. It's not all that uncommon for me - I'm actually quite a fan of their music. For some reason, I get teased a lot for that, but I couldn't care less.

Since I made this dress up as I went along, I'm now wondering if it was a subconscious influence from my playlist. Sometimes that happens! Either way, I'm very happy with the outcome. I've actually worn this dress twice since I made it, in different ways. I just forgot to take a picture of the first one. I'm sure it will be in heavy rotation - I love how comfortable it is. Comfort, believe it or not, is really important to me. It's the same reason I carry emergency flats in my bag!

All To All

The other day, a group of us went to lunch at Ippudo, since our friend Lucrecia was paying NYC a short visit. It was a bit of an inadvertent blogger lunch, with Lucrecia from Fashion Is Poison, her beau Jack, Joelle from The Owls Are Not What They Seem, Jason from Citizen Couture and Mimi from Brook&Lyn. It was my first time meeting Jack, Jason and Mimi, but we immediately had a great group dynamic - you wouldn't have known we weren't completely familiar with one another. I guess it helps when you already know each other's blogs:) Joelle was still recovering from food poisoning and I was unaware of this secret vegetarian ramen option (I got the noodle salad), but we still had a great time. Naturally, being so close to Momofuku Milk Bar, we had to make a stop for cookies and soft serve. Magic.

So, you all know that I'm the worst blogger ever and I forget to bring my camera most of the time. This was no different. I wasn't thinking like a blogger - I just wanted to catch up with my friends and meet some new ones. But luckily, we had a very talented street style photographer (Jason) on hand. Hopefully he'll put some photos up soon!

Outfit note: I have quite a bit of leg before risking anything showing (I have an extremely short torso and long legs/thighs) - but when wearing short skirts and dresses, I wear matching hotpants underneath. That way, I don't have to worry about flashing anyone while walking up the stairs, or when a gust of wind comes by.

MYNY

I'm super excited about my most recent collaboration, with Coach and their MYNY Poppy campaign. This officially made me realize I'm a New Yorker. I'll always be a Floridian, but I've been living here for more than three years! This feels like home, now more than ever.

I picked the Tyler Moto Jacket because I have been on the hunt for the perfect motorcycle jacket for over a year. Kismet! It's super soft and fits beautifully - and it has a teal lining. I love that I can push the sleeves up, zip it up or wear it open. Naturally, I paired it with an overtly feminine skirt and bows. As much as I want to think I can be Joan Jett, even in a leather jacket I am still a girly girl. But hey, if I can't be Joan, I'm up for playing her love interest in any future videos. Joan, what do you think? Do I have a shot?

Hang Out and Be Cool

I wasn't originally planning on posting these photos on the blog, because they were specifically taken for a Lookbook collaboration and I am being modestly compensated for them. But then I thought, heck, the outfit is still cute! - and that jacket, though not mine to keep, is right up my alley. I also have a crap ton of sewing to do tonight and I just don't have time to import, resize and upload new photos right now. Last weekend, I had the pleasure of spending time with two lovely ladies, Kim and Lindsey. They are lightning fast and posted pictures almost as soon as the day is over; I am ridiculously slow and just got around to it. So, if you already read their blogs (eat.sleep.wear. and Saucy Glossie), you may have already seen some of these pictures. I have a great excuse for my tardiness, I promise. When I'm not sewing or working on projects, I'm doing really important things. Like dancing with Miku or watching horrible television. I have my priorities in order.

Today, however, I've been sleeping and drinking hot tea. Would you believe that I am sick...again?! Of course you would, because I'm always sick.  I wish I was out to brunch with the girls or perusing the flea markets for a sofa, but I guess this weekend is going to be a bust. A year ago today, BFF Entertainment and the American Freedom Foundation launched the BFF Bracelet Program in support of our troops.
