Pander

Outfit Details:
Just Bright skirt - c/o ModCloth
MAC clutch - c/o Rebecca Minkoff
panda shirt - Forever 21
vest - Beacon's Closet (originally from Zara)
(see makeup here)

I'm sorry for the absence and sincerely appreciate everyone who checked in with me. I'm alive! I'm just in Florida for my sister's baby shower and have been spending all of my time with family and none of it on the computer. What a nice change of pace. Everyone is sleeping, so I figured I would stop in and say hello.

Some of you might know about my panda obsession. It all started with Snowball and I've never outgrown it. Between gifts from family, friends and also from my own purchases, I have a pretty impressive/borderline crazypants collection of panda things. Also, one of my nicknames is Panda. Or Pander, depending on whom you ask.

Naturally, I had to pick up this shirt at Forever 21 as soon as I (or maybe Tessa) spotted it. If I didn't, what kind of Panda would I be? Not a very good one, I suspect.

See Lindsey's outfit details here. See Kim's details here.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of spending time with two lovely ladies, Kim and Lindsey. They are lightning fast and posted pictures almost as soon as the day is over; I am ridiculously slow and just got around to it. So, if you already read their blogs (eat.sleep.wear. and Saucy Glossie), you may have already seen some of these pictures. I have a great excuse for my tardiness, I promise. When I'm not sewing or working on projects, I'm doing really important things. Like dancing with Miku or watching horrible television. I have my priorities in order.

Today, however, I've been sleeping and drinking hot tea. Would you believe that I am sick...again?! Of course you would, because I'm always sick.  I wish I was out to brunch with the girls or perusing the flea markets for a sofa, but I guess this weekend is going to be a bust. What are your plans for the rest of the weekend?

Glass Houses

Outfit Details:
Bardot dress - gift from Foley + Corinna
Mid-City Tote in Poppy - gift from Foley + Corinna
diamond mesh bra - American Apparel
Dany platforms - gift from Jessica Simpson Collection
glasses - Ray-Ban (style RB5226 | 2034)
rings - Beacon's Closet and H&M (similar rings here, here, here and here)
lipstick - MAC Russian Red (blotted) with Laura Mercier's Hibiscus stain over the top

I'm in love with Foley + Corinna's entire ready to wear collection. I've been a fan of their bags for awhile, but wasn't familiar with their clothing until they approached me about sending me a couple of items (I'm a lucky gal!). Though I immediately knew exactly which bag I wanted, I had such a hard time deciding on the clothing item (I love every piece) and ultimately left the decision up to them. I think they made an excellent choice - this dress is perfect. I've already worn it a few different ways and plan on keeping it in steady rotation.

On this particular day, we started out with an early pie trip before Bobby had to go to work and I had to endure a rainy day without an umbrella (as I said on my twitter - #wettshirtcontest!). Before all of that, however, I had Bobby snap a couple of pictures of my outfit as we were walking to the pie shop. While doing this, I noticed that the adjacent window had a little video camera pointed straight at me, recording everything. Which is weirder, the fact that I'm acting like I'm some kind of model, posing for pictures on a random street - or a possibly creepy person recording their neighborhood's activity with a freaking handheld video camera?

We'll call it a wash. I don't want to throw any stones in this glass house of mine.

mess in a dress

Outfit Details:
Coach Tyler Moto Jacket - gift from Coach
Jill Stuart Collection dress - Beacon's Closet
belt - thrifted
rings - Beacon's Closet and Accessorize
bangles - Alex and Ani
Gimmik platforms - gift from Blowfish Shoes
Ariana top handle messenger - gift from Melie Bianco
lipstick - Dior Addict in Diorkiss

I don't think I've ever worn a maxi dress before I got this dress, but after wearing it, I went hunting for another. I found this great floral chiffon dress at Beacon's Closet and wore it the next day. Within the first few hours of wearing it for the very first time, I managed to rip a big hole in the dress by rolling over it in my chair. It was on a seam and easily fixed, but I still had to walk around the city with a gaping hole in my dress, all afternoon. This is why I can't have nice things.

Just a quick little outfit post to break the radio silence. I had a busy weekend with the Coach Holiday Blogger Campaign party, working until my fingernails break and spending time with Bobby on his only day off in two weeks.

Huge thank you to all of you who came out to support me and my awesome peers. I loved meeting you all and I hope you had a great time! I expect to see videos of everyone's flipbooks. Holly and the lovely ladies of Trois Femmes posted theirs - check them out!

p.s. Last chance to help my reader Aly win! Please vote for her so she can buy her students new books! Vote for Meadowlands!

I know I need unique New York

Outfit Details:
lace top - thrifted
skirt - thrifted
petticoat underneath - Beacon's Closet
belt - thrifted
socks - Marshalls
Dany platforms - courtesy of Jessica Simpson Collection

Roxy and Tessa took all of my photos while I was home, since I managed to break my tripod. Whenever Roxy didn't have my camera, she had her dad's. She took her job as a photographer/director very seriously. If she wasn't taking pictures, the camera was in its holder, hanging from the tree like an ornament. She told Tessa and me how to pose for all of our photos. As you can see, she has the posing part down.

Looking back at these pictures from Florida makes me want to smack Winter right in its face. Bare legs in December and January?! It used to be such a normal thing to me. But then again, so were backyards, walk-in closets and dishwashers. Now they all seem like exotic privileges from faraway lands. All kidding aside, the lack of such luxuries aren't enough to keep me from loving Brooklyn, though it would be better if a certain Tessa Marie would agree to apply for college in New York and come live with us. I'm just throwing that out there!
