I've been at the W Hotel in San Diego the past few days, hence the lack of updates. I came (on my way back today) with the rest of the CVS Beauty Board for a luncheon we hosted, and got to spend a little time with Miss Kimberly. We ate and shopped and ate some more. Thanks to everyone who gave us recommendations!

Shannon asked what I wear to the airport and since I was still wearing my airport garb, I decided to photograph it. Of course, I was also wearing shoes (my ubiquitous Tory Burch flats), a sleeveless trench and a blazer before I got on the plane, because I put on everything I can't fit into my carry-on bag.

And then I use them as blankets.

Don't worry, I'm not one to hold up the line. I'm fully ready once I get to security: laptop and baggie out, layers and shoes off in one fell swoop - it's something straight out of Up in the Air.

Since Kim came up from Los Angeles to visit me, we documented her traveling outfit, as well. And then we sat in front of the window and looked all pensive and stuff. It just felt like the right thing to do.

I'm in love with Foley + Corinna's entire ready to wear collection. I've been a fan of their bags for awhile, but wasn't familiar with their clothing until they approached me about sending me a couple of items (I'm a lucky gal!). Though I immediately knew exactly which bag I wanted, I had such a hard time deciding on the clothing item (I love every piece) and ultimately left the decision up to them. I think they made an excellent choice - this dress is perfect. I've already worn it a few different ways and plan on keeping it in steady rotation.

On this particular day, we started out with an early pie trip before Bobby had to go to work and I had to endure a rainy day without an umbrella (as I said on my twitter - #wettshirtcontest!). Before all of that, however, I had Bobby snap a couple of pictures of my outfit as we were walking to the pie shop. While doing this, I noticed that the adjacent window had a little video camera pointed straight at me, recording everything. Which is weirder, the fact that I'm acting like I'm some kind of model, posing for pictures on a random street - or a possibly creepy person recording their neighborhood's activity with a freaking handheld video camera?

We'll call it a wash. I don't want to throw any stones in this glass house of mine.

Miku was thrilled to be at the park and promenade; the weather as of late has left her without her usual playtime with other furry little friends (other than our cats). Hillside Park is such a wonderful, large and well cared for dog park - so many of New York's other dog parks are sad, small and filled with concrete - and it happens to have an extraordinary view of Manhattan. Right near the promenade and adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge, it must give these pups quite a feeling of luxury. Though, I do think Miku would be just as happy to roll around in mud and follow the horses around at the ranch. She's a pretty pup and might look high maintenance, but she's nothing of the sort and not even a bit prissy. Much like her mother (as in me, not her biological one), she is not afraid to get a little dirty and is always up for an outdoor adventure. You can take the girls out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girls.

Okay, we grew up in South Florida. But still, we have horses and goats and stuff. Doesn't that count?
p.s. In case you're wondering, Miku is not wearing a muzzle. It's called a gentle leader:)

Katrina sent me this matryoshka doll necklace quite awhile ago, and though I wear it often - I never seem to photograph my outfits on those days. Bobby collects anything having to do with matryoshka dolls, including tattoos (and the actual objects themselves), so I knew he would get a kick out of this necklace. He even has this pepper mill.

As for myself, I'm a collector of everything panda. Ever since I was a wee little stinker, dragging Snowball everywhere I went, family and friends have defaulted on the panda present. I couldn't be more pleased. As it stands, I have panda purses, panda blankets, a panda lunch tote, panda mugs, a panda pushpin cushion, panda art, panda pajamas, panda jewelry, panda everything. Do you collect anything in particular?

Tonight, I feel like more.

I've never traveled outside of the U.S. I feel like a few people judged me when I told them that. In fact, I know they did - and I resent it. It isn't for lack of cultivation or interest; it's simply a lack of funds. When I was little, we were kind of (okay maybe a lot) broke - vacations were few and far between and usually local. Believe me, I would love to travel (and plan on doing so) - but first, I should probably focus on paying off my debt. In the meantime, I want to maximize my mini-travels. Our little trip to New Orleans made me realize just how much of the country I have left to explore. Here's to road trips and weekend jaunts with close friends. Let's get out of this country city.

This is pretty much my road trip uniform: stretchy pants, loose shirt, jacket, flats, scarf to keep my bangs out of my face. You can't really go wrong with this combo. It's a good thing these pants have a lot of stretch, because after finally tracking down a girl scout cookie stand, I may or may not have eaten almost an entire box of samoas in one day. Over twenty hours in a car = massive cookie consumption. I can't help it!

Miku is an angel on road trips. I guess it helps that she has been traveling since she was a tiny pup; she's pretty used to cars and airplanes - but she hates trains and cabs. While on long car trips, she just sleeps or relaxes most of the time, but we make frequent stops so she can stretch her little legs. She's been getting plenty of exercise since we got to Florida. She was tuckered out from a full day on the ranch, running around like one of the horsies. More from Florida, soon!

That makes us sounds so much more adventurous than we really are, or maybe I shouldn't tell you that. There's nothing I love more than a good adventure and I'm up for it on any day...except when it's freezing and windy and I'm not properly dressed. In this case, we really just hopped a fence to take a few pictures. It was cold but fun and despite my poor decision to leave the panda mittens in the car, I had Bobby's scarf to keep me warm...ish.

Sometimes I feel bad for Bobby, because I'm always stealing his clothes and accessories. Then I remember that no, I don't feel bad because it's his fault for being the same size as me! The only benefit of being the same size as your boyfriend is stealing his clothes. Too bad for him that I wear so many dresses, because he doesn't benefit much from my closet. Kim and I, on the other hand - our closets have few boundaries. We're constantly borrowing each other's clothing and shoes, which is kind of funny since our styles are so different. Since Kim is moving back to LA, don't be surprised if I end up wearing one of Miku's sweaters in a future post. I can only do so much with menswear.

You guys have no idea how much will power it took to keep from pairing this Minnie Mouse sweater with yellow heels and a bow on my head. I really do think like a five year old sometimes. Instead, I just went with her signature red because I had to make Minnie proud. After all, I did live in her hometown (well, one of them) for several years and frequented her home in Magic Kingdom. Speaking of: I'm dying to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (it's kind of a tradition) but I won't be home in time! What the heck, Mickey? Why does your Christmas party end a week before Christmas?! Instead, I'm thinking of taking Tessa to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - has anyone been?

I don't really know why I'm complaining about missing out on something holiday themed in Florida; NYC is one of the most amazing places to be at this time of year. I think the holiday spirit fully hit me today, as Wendy and I were perusing the pretty holiday window displays (including Coach's flagship - I'm in the window!!). I got a little distracted by all of the pretty and wasn't paying attention to my walking (I'm pigeon toed. It's necessary); I almost took out an entire crowd in an epic stumble. Wendy totally saved my butt from hitting the ground. Thanks, Wendy! It's not the shoes - they're actually really stable and easy to walk in, because of that huge platform. I'm just a total klutz. I tripped down the subway stairs in flats this afternoon.

It just never gets easier, this walking thing. For Christmas, I want a jetpack!

Sunday morning brunch is possibly one of my favorite things in the world. Breakfast food and good company = best combination. On this particular day, I asked Bobby what the weather was like (since he walked Miku). "Not too cold; it's actually really nice out." He told me I would be fine without a coat, in fact, because it was that nice out.

LIAR.

It was freezing and windy and I could have used not one but three or five coats. Luckily for me, the scarf I wore is approximately the size of a large blanket, so I wore it wrapped around me as such. Plus, Benchmark had lobster bisque. The moral of this story: Always check the temperature yourself and go to restaurants whose chefs understand the importance of hot soup on a cold day.

Unrelated, but I would like to apologize to all of the people with aversions to velvet (and I know there are many). I grew up in the 90s; velvet was practically a way of life. Nirvana lyrics fit all aspects of this post, so that worked out beautifully - a 90s miracle, if you will!
